§ Mr. Douglas HoggRequests, both formal and informal, have been received for a number of Crown servants, a former Crown servant and police officers to be made available as witnesses in connection with the civil case in the United States. Those persons have been made available for giving evidence in the United Kingdom, subject to restrictions and conditions designed to ensure that national security and the criminal investigation and proceedings are not prejudiced. A request for the examination of a journalist and for an order for him to194W produce documents is presently the subject of proceedings before the High Court and it would not be proper for further comment to be made on that matter.
