§ Mr. FormanMy right hon. Friend receives representa-tions from time to time for the independent English language schools to be made subject to Government regulation. The Government believe that self-regulation in the independent sector provides the best means of ensuring that proper standards are maintained. The Government welcome the availability of voluntary accreditation schemes offered by the British Council and a number of responsible voluntary agencies.
