HC Deb 16 June 1992 vol 209 c449W
Mr. O'Hara

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what representations he has received about the situation within and around the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mellor

[holding answer 12 June 1992]:I am in close touch with the Arts Council about the situation and shall be seeing the chairman of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society on 16 June.

I am anxious that the current high artistic standing of the Royal Liverpool philharmonic orchestra under its music director, Libor Pesek, should not be jeopardised.
