To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will state(a) how many people were awarded undergraduate degrees by United Kingdom institutions in each year from 1974 to date, (b) how many people commenced postgraduate degree courses in each of these years and (c) how many of those commencing courses were in receipt of Government-funded postgraduate awards.

The number of undergraduates awarded degrees from United Kingdom higher education institutions were as follows:
