To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will set a timetable for Britain's overseas aid budget to reach the UN target of 0.7 per cent. of gross national product.

No. The Government have stated on many occasions that, while they accept the target and are providing for real-terms increases in the aid programme, they are not prepared to set down a timetable.
