To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on his response to the Petrol Retailers Association's representations concerning the review of oil company undertakings in the United Kingdom retail petrol market by the Office of Fair Trading.

Mr. Neil Hamilton

The Director General of Fair Trading will in due course he advising the President on whether any changes should be considered in the existing undertakings given by the oil companies following earlier MMC reports on the supply of petrol. When such advice is received, the President will consider it very carefully.
