Mr. Clifton-Brown

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make it his policy that all interested buyers of milk and dairy products, including secondary users, will be fully consulted on proposals to change the current United Kingdom milk marketing arrangements and to supply details of the planned timetable for consultations.

The Government are currently considering the milk marketing boards' proposals for its transformation into non-statutory structures. We intend to introduce legislation to facilitate this change this parliamentary Session. We are committed to full consultation of all interests affected beforehand.
