How many remanded juveniles have been held in police cells rather than in penal establishments in West Yorkshire in the last 12 months, and for how long was each juvenile in police custody, and

How many remanded juveniles have been held in police cells rather than in penal establishments in Greater Manchester in the last 12 months, and for how long was each juvenile in police custody.

Information on juvenile prisoners held in police cells is not held centrally. Over the previous 12 months the number of juvenile prisoners is likely to have been very small. Arrangements are made to give them priority over older prisoners for available places in suitable Prison Service establishments.
