To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list the number of claims for A8 and A4 prescribed diseases for each of the last five years.

I understand from Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. that the information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when he intends to implement the recommendation of the May 1992 report of the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (Cm. 1936).
