Mr. Sproat

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will list the number of reported crimes in(a) Harwich and (b) Clacton for each of the last 20 years;

(2) if he will list the number of reported crimes in Essex in each year for the last 20 years.

Information on the number of recorded offences in the Essex police force area are published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales". The latest figures for 1991 are published in Home Office statistical bulletin 2/92. Copies of all these publications are available in the Library.

Separate figures for Harwich and Clacton are not collected centrally.
