§ Miss WiddecombeThe main priority for environmental issues over the next year will be to finalise an environmental strategy for the Department and to ensure that there is an action plan to implement it. In the longer term, the aim will be to ensure that, as far as possible, the Department's activities take environmental consideration fully into account. This will include cutting down our production of carbon dioxide by reducing our energy consumption by 15 per cent. by 1996.
