§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answer 3 July 1992] : Training credits schemes currently operate in 10 of the 82 training and enterprise councils in England and Wales, and one of the 22 local enterprise companies in Scotland, and offer training to those 16 and 17-year-olds who leave full-time education.
The number of 16 and 17-year-olds currently on a training credit scheme represents an estimated 1 per cent. of the total number of 16 and 17-year-olds in Great Britain.
