HL Deb 27 January 1992 vol 534 c40WA
Lord Houghton of Sowerby

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What guidance has been given to magistrates and the police regarding the enforcement of the conditions of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

Earl Ferrers

Home Office Circular No. 67/1991, which contained advice on the enforcement of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, was issued to the police, courts and the Crown Prosecution Service in England and Wales on 4th September 1991. The Home Office has also provided guidance on anad hoc basis to queries from the police and courts about particular aspects of the operation of the Act since it came into force. We intend providing further formal guidance to the police and courts regarding the enforcement of the Act shortly.
