§ Mr. FallonA total of 176,300 full-time equivalent teachers were employed in primary schools in January 1991, the latest year for which we have information. The number of teachers which will be employed in each year up to 1996–97 will depend on the decisions taken by local education authorities and schools with delegated budgets on the deployment of the funds at their disposal.
