§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer of 20 January 1992]The total police strength and authorised establishment levels for Strathclyde police for the years 1975 to 1991 are set out in the table below. Responsibility for the deployment of officers in different parts of the force area rests with the chief constable and figures relating to such deployment are not collected centrally.
