HL Deb 21 January 1992 vol 534 c21WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

To whom the premises in this country formerly belonging to the Soviet state are now understood to belong, and whether to their knowledge any changes of ownership or user have been agreed or acquiesced in by the other member states of the former Soviet Union.

The Earl of Caithness

Her Majesty's Government understands that the premises in the United Kingdom formerly owned by the Soviet Union now belong to the Russian Federation, as the continuing state of the former USSR. We are not aware of any agreements between the states which comprised the Soviet Union relating to the ownership of premises in this country.
