§ Mr. RedwoodI regularly receive representations from business on the importance of minimising regulatory burdens on business. In the Government's approach to national regulation and in negotiations on proposals for new EC regulations, the potential costs of compliance and impact on the competitiveness of United Kingdom industry are fully taken into account.
