HL Deb 09 January 1992 vol 533 c93WA
Lord Teviot

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Who holds the film and photographic records of the Ministry of Defence and whether they are satisfied with the condition in which they are maintained.

The Earl of Arran

The main historical military film and photographic records of the Ministry of Defence, which are public records, are subject to the requirements of the Public Records Acts. They are held by the Imperial War Museum, which has been appointed a place of deposit by the noble and learned Lord the Lord Chancellor under Section 4(1) of the 1958 Act. The conditions under which they are kept meet the standards required of places of deposit.
