§ Mr. Kenneth CarlisleThe Atomic Weapons Establishment has a number of contracts which utilise the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority's expertise in the fields of nuclear waste treatment, plutonium handling, safety studies, materials analysis and equipment testing and calibration. Funding for these contracts is provided from class 1, defence vote 2—defence procurement. It would not be in the national interest to reveal further details of the funding arrangements.
