§ 39. Mr. Harry GreenwayTo ask the Lord President of the Council how many annunciators there are in the House; what plans he has to add to this number; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MacGregorThe present annunciator system consists of about 1,500 black and white television monitors distributed throughout the parliamentary estate. In the phase 1 buildings—1 Parliament street and 1 Derby gate —modern television receivers provide both the annunciator service and a number of public service television channels, including teletext. It is expected that the existing annunciator sets in the remainder of the parliamentary estate will be replaced by early 1994, as part of the programme to instal a dual data and video network for Members, their staff and staff of the House.
