§ Mr. TrotterTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a further statement on the recent agreement of EC fisheries Ministers for the conservation of fish stocks.
§ Mr. CurryFurther to my statement in the House on 20 December we have today issued a consultation paper to the industry seeking views on a range of proposals which could be taken unilaterally to improve conservation of the fish stocks of importance to us. The proposals include 275W suggestion for action on a one-net rule, a United Kingdom minimum landing size for whiting, further action on square mesh panels and new measures on net geometry.
