To ask the Secretary of State for Defence is he can give details of the inquiry into tri-service third-line helicopter maintenance facilities; and if he will make a statement on the impact the report has concerning the future of the royal naval aircraft workshops, Almondbank, Perthshire.

The inquiry was a wide ranging efficiency scrutiny of helicopter repair work. I cannot say what implications the report might have for staff at RNAW Almondbank until its recommendations have been properly considered. But I can assure my hon. Friend that I fully recognise the skill and loyalty of the Almondbank work force.
