To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what plans he has to change the rules governing invalid care allowance.

Mr. Scott

Subject to parliamentary approval, from April we intend to increase the earnings disregard for invalid care allowance from £30 to £40 a week. This will enable more carers to enjoy the advantages of a link with the world of work.
