HC Deb 11 December 1992 vol 215 c808W
Mr. Cox

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what discussions he has had with other EC member states on introducing legislation against racial discrimination; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

The Government are opposed absolutely to discrimination on grounds of race, and this position is reflected when such matters come up in discussions with our European partners. The legislative arrangements in other member states, however, are a matter for them, taking account of their particular circumstances.
