HC Deb 11 December 1992 vol 215 c812W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the revenue forgone in his recent extension of reliefs in inheritance tax in a full year; and if he will break down this figure by each category of additional relief.

Mr. Dorrell

The estimated reduction in the yield of inheritance tax for transfers in 1992–93 resulting from the changes to business and agricultural relief made in the Finance (No. 2) Act 1992 is £45 million in a full year. Of this total £25 million relates to the extension of agricultural relief and £20 million to the extension of business relief.
