Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will attend the Environment Council of the EC meeting on 15 and 16 December to represent Welsh environmental interests.

Mr. David Hunt

I will not be attending the December meeting of the EC Environment Council; in accordance with long established practice, the environmental interests of the United Kingdom will be represented at that meeting by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment.
