HC Deb 10 December 1992 vol 215 c768W
24. Mr. Kirkwood

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what further representations he has received about the effect of value added tax rates on the bloodstock industry; and if he will make a statement.

Sir John Cope

A wide range of representations continue to be received about VAT and bloodstock and the introduction of the single market. We are working hard with industry representatives to ensure that they are fully aware of the new VAT arrangements so that no one is unnecessarily disadvantaged by them. Officials stand ready to consider any proposals from the industry to ease the potential problems they face.
