HC Deb 01 December 1992 vol 215 cc173-4W
21. Mr. Brandreth

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if she will make a statement on the performance indicators used in the evaluation of job clubs.

Mr. McLoughlin

The overall indicator for job clubs is the degree to which they improve unemployed people's chances of finding work. Our most recent survey (1989), found that attending a job club increased an individual's chance of finding a full-time job by about 50 per cent. Information is also collected monthly to measure the performance of individual job clubs. This includes the number of entrants to the programme and the number of job placings. Information on costs is collected quarterly.
