§ Mr. SpearingTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs under what circumstances and constitutional procedures he expects to deposit instruments of ratification in respect of titles I, V and VI of the treaty on European union with the President of the Italian Republic as required by that treaty.
§ Mr. Garel-JonesThe United Kingdom's instrument of ratification will be deposited with the Italian Government once we have given effect in United Kingdom law to those provisions of the treaty of European union which amend the European Community treaties previously enacted here. The instrument of ratification will cover all titles of the treaty on European union.
