HC Deb 01 December 1992 vol 215 c112W
Mr. Beggs

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will publish a list of the principal sectors of industry in which large users of electricity in Great Britain have successfully negotiated beneficial supply contracts with the private sector electricity generating companies.

Mr. Eggar

DTI statistics show that the average electricity prices paid by industry fell by 12 per cent. in real terms between the second quarter of 1992 and the second quarter of 1989, before the electricity supply industry was privatised. Individual contracts are a commercial matter for the companies concerned.
