§ Mr. FlynnTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the health of(a) freshwater fish in rivers, waterways and lakes and (b) seawater fish in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. CurryFish populations in the United Kingdom enjoy a relatively high health status and we are free of the most serious fish diseases. We have taken action under the Diseases of Fish Acts to protect and maintain this position; and will continue to do so under a new Community directive, recently agreed, and coming into effect on 1 January 1993.
