To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the current position on the replacement of HMS Fearless and HMS Intrepid; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend, the Minister of State for Defence Procurement, announced on 15 October, Official Report, column 138. that we expect to place a contract for project definition of the replacement next month.
