§ Mr. EggarIn September 1991, the average salary of a teacher in a primary school was some £16,800. Among secondary school teachers the average was £18,400. These figures take account of the salaries of head and deputy head teachers. In April 1979, the figures were £5,220 and £5,520 respectively.
