§ Mr. PortilloThe Government are fully aware of the Coalfield Communities Campaign's view on the issues arising on the United Kingdom's application to the European Commission under the RECHAR programme. Although the Commission has not yet approved the application everything is being done to permit a satisfactory outcome and no useful purpose would be served by a meeting with members of the campaign at the present time.
