To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what research he has commissioned concerning the development or discovery of scents or essences that can be used as attractants to dogs and so localise the locations of their waste.

[holding answer 14 October 1991]: None. The Government believe that owners should keep their dogs under control and if necessary clear up after them.
