asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish all future amounts charged to the Overseas Development Administration, in addition to the £5,046,422 already charged, by the Ministry of Defence for humanitarian assistance provided in northern Iraq, and the total charge eventually made for humanitarian assistance in Bangladesh.

The Ministry of Defence is prepared to make public financial information on all disaster relief operations. The final charge for the humanitarian assistance provided in northern Iraq was £6,410,846. The final charge for the humanitarian assistance to Bangladesh has not yet been made. To date, the ODA has been charged £552,512.

Whether the £5,046,422 so far charged to the Overseas Development Administration by the Ministry of Defence for humanitarian assistance provided in northern Iraq covers any items other than fuel, first line maintenance and third party insurance for the three RAF C-130 aircraft deployed to Turkey on 7th April and the 10 RAF Chinook helicopters deployed there on 13th April; if so what were those items and the charges made for them; and on what dates those aircraft were respectively withdrawn from humanitarian relief work.

The final charge for the humanitarian assistance provided by the MoD to the ODA amounts to £6,410,846. The total comprises £3,947,727 for C-130 aircraft and Chinook helicopter flights; £189,181 for Sea King and Gazelle helicopter flights; £58,934 for Tristar resupply flights; £1,918,200 for air-dropped pallets; £246,515 for stores; £25,531 for off-loading helicopters at Limassol docks; and £24,758 for allowances and UK overtime. The C-130 aircraft ceased relief operations on 1st May and the final relief flights by Chinook helicopter occurred on 2nd July.
