When they expect to identify the senior figure who will carry out an inquiry into prisoner management at Her Majesty's Prison, Belfast.

I am glad to say that Viscount Colville of Culross QC has agreed to undertake this important task, with the following terms of reference:

To review the operational policy in Belfast Prison for the management of paramilitary prisoners from opposing factions; and to make recommendations.

Lord Colville will begin work immediately and his report is expected early in the New Year.
