§ Mr. AtkinsMy Department has provided funding for the Sports Council to establish a national register of recreational land, which will enable gains and losses to be monitored. The register will include educational playing fields. Decisions on the disposal of playing fields at local education authority maintained schools are for the 379W education authority. However, in view of public concern about the loss of playing fields, we are considering the issue.
