To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action he has taken on the recommendations of the Fire Brigades Union report, "As Safe as Houses", a copy of which has been sent to him; and if he will make a statement.

The discussion document was submitted for consideration to the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council at its meeting of 20 November. The Home Office will consider its response to the document in the light of advice from that forum.
