§ Mr. CoxTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what overseas aid projects now taking place in Sri Lanka are helped with funding from the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. ChalkerI announced to the House on 22 July the withdrawal of our conditional offer of £3 million assistance for Sri Lanka and said that any new major commitments would be considered in the light of Sri Lankan Government policies and practices including the position on human rights. No such projects have been agreed since then. A list of ongoing projects agreed before July has been placed in the Libraries of the House.
