Mr. Alton

To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether private abortion clinics may offer abortions in the United Kingdom to foreign women via advertising in magazines with an international circulation.

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

It is a condition of approval under section 1(3) of the Abortion Act that places must not advertise, outside the United Kingdom, their facilities for the treatment of abortion patients.
