§ Mr. CoxTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what measures he is taking to ensure a degree of standardisation in the administration of local training credit schemes; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. JacksonThe training credits pilots now running in 11 areas throughout Great Britain were selected to test a range of approaches in a number of different environments. My right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State has commissioned a rigorous evaluation of these pilot schemes. The evaluation results will be disseminated to TECs and local enterprise companies to inform the future development of training credit schemes, including any areas where the evaluation suggests that a degree of standardisation may be appropriate.
