§ Mr. ForthNo. The Department does not provide funds either directly or through the English tourist board to cover the costs of directional or tourist road signs. Directional signs are a matter for the Department of Transport or for the appropriate local highway authority. The costs of erecting white-on-brown tourist road signs must be met by the attraction or venue concerned.
