§ Sir Thomas ArnoldTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has to set up an inquiry at an early date into the proposals entitled "Cheshire 2001: A Strategy for the Future", submitted by Cheshire county council and Chester district council.
§ Sir George YoungThe Secretary of State for the Environment has already held an examination in public on the Cheshire replacement structure plan—"Cheshire 2001", and there has been a full public consultation on his proposed modifications to the plan. He is considering all representations including those by Cheshire county council and the City of Chester before reaching his final decision.
