§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeI intend to publish both the aggregate national results and the aggregate results in each local education authority in England, as soon as outstanding information has been sent to the Department by local education authorities. The public is entitled to accurate national and local information about the 1991 assessments of seven-year-olds under the national curriculum. The results will provide for the first time both a national picture of the attainments of this age group in the core subjects of English, mathematics and science and a baseline against which to measure progress.
