HL Deb 23 May 1991 vol 529 c22WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will condemn the recent decision of the Israeli Supreme Court to expel four Palestinians from the Gaza Strip as a further breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.

The Earl of Caithness

We deplore the deportation on 18th May of four Gazans, as we have deplored earlier deportations from the Occupied Territories. It is a clear breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention. It does not help efforts to promote peace talks. We urge Israel to desist from further deportations and ensure the safe return of those already deported.
