§ Lord Kennetasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether the FAO Regional Project Laboratory in Iraq (referred to on page 6 of the Report by UN Under-Secretary-General Ahtisaari) and the stocks of veterinary vaccine held there were intentionally targeted by coalition forces and during the war with Iraq; and
Whether seed warehouses were intentionally targeted by the coalition forces during the recent war with Iraq.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence (The Earl of Arran)Coalition policy was to attack only military targets or facilities supporting Iraq's illegal occupation of Kuwait. In view or the noble Lord's interest, we are seeking to establish whether the facilities mentioned in UN Under Secretary General Ahtisaari's report could have been damaged in attacks by RAF aircraft. I shall write to the noble Lord.
