§ Mr. EggarUp to 31 March 1991 the cost to the School Examinations and Assessment Council of securing the design, printing, distribution and evaluation of the standard assessment tasks for seven-year-olds was £5,661,755. The standard assessment tasks have been designed to be delivered by a single teacher using existing resources, and—apart from the individual reading test—to take no more than 30 hours, although the exact time will vary according to the circumstances of each class.
