The National Rivers Authority monitors groundwater in Wales, principally that used for potable supplies, at points of emergence The Control of Pollution (Silage, Slurry and Agricultural Fuel Oil) Regulations 1991—SI No. 324—which come into force on 1 September will reduce considerably risks to controlled waters by setting construction standards and strengthening the NRA's powers.
