To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, further to his reply of 8 May,Official Report, column 461, to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Provan, what are the comparable figures of per capita spending on civil research and development in 1989 for Canada, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan and Sweden.
